7 Ideas on How To Use Antiques Outdoors

You could go and spend hours and hours trying to find the perfect outdoor antique to compliment your garden or you could reuse an indoor antique instead. Often we don't realise the adaptability of antiques. We may buy an antique we love at that moment and then a while later we forget about it and put it onto storage. Or like many others, we stare at it and wonder why on earth we bought it. Here are some awesome ideas on how to reuse antiques in the garden.

This chair has been reused as a flower pot. It has no seat so it's perfect for flowers.

This cute little vintage kettle is perfect for planting small flowers.

This indoor flower vase is great for the outdoors. It is hardy and the more it ages the more character it gets. Fabulous! (pictures from Hometown Antiques)
Use an old headboard as a really cool gate.
This old bird cage has been remodeled to be a hanging plant holder.
This vintage cake tray is now an awesome cacti field.

This antique sweet tin has been remodelled as a really awesome looking pot plant.

Reusing antiques or anything that you buy is a great way to maintain your consumption rate and one of the solutions to help fix our littered earth. Reuse and Recycle.

Vintage Inspired Homes

I have been trawling the internet to find and bring to you some of the most inspirational vintage homes. There are millions of pins on Pinterest and Google.  It isn't an easy task, to find real vintage features in homes that present a feel of modern living and hospitality rather, I found it as difficult as washing vintage lace - in fact, almost impossible. So, from us here at Strand Trading Post, eat your heart out. Here are the Crème de la crème of vintage inspired homes.

The integration of these hot pink leather chairs into a pure white room is just too adorable. It makes the room look playful yet classy. Love it.
This vintage mirror and the remodelled chairs in this room add some crisp layers to otherwise plain room.
I love the use of the vintage china candle holders on the table in this blue room.

The vintage painting of the dogs in the background and the vintage world map are rare finds and really fit in this room perfectly.
The vintage chandelier in this room strings all the different elements together.
The use of the vintage arm chairs and the vintage paintings creates a peaceful space that seems to only be apparent with certain types of vintage décor.
Oh the never ending Asian influence and my favourite integration for a good reason. This use of antique Asian room dividers and the candle holders on the wall make this room timeless.
One of the best vintage inspired family homes yet. From the antique painting on the wall, both the roof and standing lighting, the chairs and tables there is almost no space for contemporary pieces in this home, yet it looks superbly modern and homely.
This home looks like it could have been taken out of a colonial castle. The use of the antique Ottoman and the paintings on the wall, incorporated with the colours of the sofas and antique fireplace makes for a breathtaking room that you feel warm in.

A big thank you to Beautiful House.
